Black Pepper ( 1 POUND )
Black pepper is a seasoning produced from the fermented, dried, unripe red berries, called peppercorn, of the vine Piper nigrum. The same peppercorn, when unripe green, can be dried, or preserved in brine or vinegar, to make green peppercorn; or when ripe, dried and dehusked to make white peppercorn, for white pepper.
Citric Acid ( 1 POUND )
Derived from Citrus fruit (oranges is an example), food grade citric acid can be used in fruit beers or soft drinks to add additional fresh fruit taste and zing. Citric acid must also be used in fruit flavored sodas to lower the ph below 4.6 to prevent the growth of botulism spores. It is also acceptable to use in cola type drinks. In non-fruit soft drinks like root beer, other food grade acids like food grade phosphoric may be used according to the chemical manufacturer's instructions and in a safe diluted quanitity to protect the soft drink from botulism.
Greek Oregano ( 1 POUND )
Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is a spicy, Mediterranean, perennial herb, particularly common in Greek and Italian cuisines. It is the leaves that are used in cooking, and the dried herb is often more flavourful than the fresh.
Red Pepper ( 1 POUND )
Red Pepper is the dried, ripened fruit pod of Capsicum frutescens, one of the most pungent Capsicums. It is sometimes referred to as Cayenne Red Pepper, having been named after the high heat chilies grown in the vicinity of the Cayenne River in French Guiana.
